Some dramatic license here. A sprinkle of embellishment there. Before you know it, the fish is ten feet long, the fox is big enough to ride, and the whole thing has taken on a life of its own.

Because a good storyteller can take an interesting yarn and weave it into a legend. That’s how a guy who liked apples became Johnny Appleseed and a lady interested in bears became the grizzly-wrestling Sally Ann Thunder Ann Whirlwind.
